ADreamComeTrueWritingForDailyLoveToday is a day of mixed emotions.

On the one hand, I am still regrouping after the Seattle situation. (Thanks to sharing with you and reading the touching stories you shared with me, I feel better knowing that I am not alone.)

And on the other, a life goal of mine was reached.

A few months ago, I read The Success Principles and it encouraged me to write a 100 Life Goals list. While adding some aspirations to my list, #27 included meeting Mastin Kipp, founder of The Daily Love, and being a contributor for his amazing and inspirational site.

When I wrote this goal, it was pretty pie-in-the-sky thinking. Something to strive for and eventually achieve “one day.” (I’m sure you know the kind of goal I’m talking about.)

Well, I am surprised – and excited – to say, that this goal has been crossed off my list light years earlier than I expected.

As you may recall, I met Mastin at his Chicago Daily Love workshop in August. Which meant part one got crossed off the list quickly.

But part two to this goal seemed rather untouchable.

However, today I shared the story of how I overcame a lot of nasty habits (binge eating, smurgging, etc.), found my purpose, and designed my career, all through the power of intention on The Daily Love. You can read about my journey here.

If you had told me that I would see my story shared on The Daily Love just a few months after I wrote it on a Life Goal list, I would have never believed you.

Yet that is exactly what happened.

I think this shows that when we take the time to think about our Life Goals we give ourselves the chance to find out what might be possible.

Some goals may take time and others might lurk just around the corner.

This is amazing! Congratulations. I’m going to go write my own list now

  • Congrats!!! 🙂 How exciting! And a list of 100 goals sounds interesting! Have you written about that before?

  • Congrats! That’s amazing and very inspiring 🙂
It actually has kicked my butt to start thinking about what are some of my goals in life and write them down. Instead of them just floating around in my brain.

Thank you! I’m looking forward to hearing all about the other goals you check off!

  • That is wonderful! I hope some of your lofty dreams come true sooner than you expect.

Also, I’ll mention that I struggled to come up with 100 goals. I think I’ve got about 66 or so at the moment and plan to add as I go. So don’t feel like you have to get to the full 100 at this very moment if it feels difficult. : )

  • I don’t think so… it is kinda similar to the conjuring list, but more from a lifelong perspective. http://jesslively.com/ask-for-what-you-wish-for/

I highly recommend picking up “The Success Principles” if you find the idea interesting (though the concept is not unique to the book, it is a great book in and of itself, too).

  • Wonderful!!! And as I mentioned to Michelle above, don’t feel stressed if 100 goals seems hard to come up with in one sitting.

  • Big congrats Jess and well deserved!
Now…spying #31 on that list… If there’s anything I can ever do to help make that happen you just say the word! Off to read your post now.

  • Totally!!!!! Yes! I do want to do that and if you can help me, I am in!!

I am thinking maybe a live taping of the new podcast might be something fun to think about for that one… just need to make sure it is financially feasible. : )

  • Thank you for telling me that! I would have been trying to get to 100 all night lol. I will make a goal of 50 and let my mind dream over the next month 🙂

  • Chicspace/Marguerite

    Congrats Jess!

I don’t know if you’ve ever read Gala Darling, but she’s been doing workshops around the world this year (she’s from NZ, lives in NYC, but is in Australia running workshops right now). 31 is definitely attainable!

  • My pleasure. I think as long as you don’t let yourself stop too soon, you’ll do great.

I did find that having to add so many did help me stretch my imagination – I just didn’t let me make up insincere goals for the sake of numbers in the process.

    Have fun writing them tonight!

  • Thanks, Marguerite! It is definitely something on my radar. I don’t know in what form… but I want to make that one happen!

  • Erin Gates

How is it possible that I am above visiting the White House and saving a life??? Woah. Immensely flattered and if you are ever in Boston please give me a should we can cross that off!
(Of course now I am panicked that you mean another Erin Gates….)

  • Edyta

How wonderful! Congratulations on this new opportunity, I love Mastin! Have a wonderful week

  • Funnily enough, I have that book! I’ve had it for years but have never read it — totally forgot about it! Looks like I have a date with a “new” book! 🙂

  • jplatt27

AMAZING! Well deserved, Jess! Thanks for sharing this. It reminds us that we can achieve our “crazy” dreams too.

  • Exactly! I highly recommend making a list like this. Not every one needs to be pie-in-the-sky, but adding some of those in there can be a fun way to see what is really possible.

  • That is so wonderful to hear, Kimberly. Just keep going. Study and learn in order to elevate you from your current situation. And most importantly, take baby steps towards your vision.

  • Thank you! I love Mastin, too. Have you ever seen him speak? So great.

  • I know, might be a little crazy to see, but it’s true!

Thanks for making me yelp a little when I saw this comment.

  • For sure! It’s packed with info, reading it again every few years might be a wise thing to do in general.

Thank you so much for sharing this inspirational story, Jess. I really love seeing your dream come true. It gives me hope that my smaller and bigger dreams can come true with the right attitude.

  • Becca Divine

    Congrats!!!That’s awesome!

  • Wow Jess, how wonderful! Congratulations, this is super exciting + a true testament that by working hard + staying focused + committed to your goal you can achieve amazing things! xx

  • Thank you, Rachel!

The way that I got on TDL taught me to listen to everyone, connect authentically, and share your goal. I didn’t think I would get on the site for a very long time (if ever), but by having a great conversation with someone I had no idea was connected to the TDL community, I was actually connected to the exact person who picked the contributors.

Had I not shared my goal in a genuine way, this may never have happened. Pretty crazy!

  • Thank you, Becca!!

  • Exactly! And as I mentioned to Rachel above, I learned through all of this to be genuine and share my goal in an authentic way. By doing this in a random conversation, I was actually put in touch with the person who chooses contributors out of the blue. It really is true that you have to share your vision if you’d like to see it achieved!

  • super congrats, Jess, well-deserved (and sought-after)

  • Thank you, Dervla! It is a huge honor.

  • I totally agree. I hope you consider a list like this if you haven’t done one already. : )

  • That’s amazing! Congratulations, Jess. 🙂

  • Thanks, Sage!

  • Nicole

This is awesome!! Congrats on crossing a major accomplishment off your list 🙂

  • Thank you so much, Nicole. Have a great weekend!
