So… the Franklin Collection will be (hopefully) launching tomorrow. I just need to program the shop pages and do some finishing touches to the awesome lookbook.

But in the meantime, I wanted to share this video (21 minutes long) I found a few weeks ago from Elizabeth Gilbert at O Magazine’s 10th Anniversary. She does a beautiful job explaining how to manage the conflict between family and career, and how to do our best in this moment.

    I love this video! I read the article Elizabeth Gilbert wrote with much of the same content in the O magazine’s 10yr anniversary issue and it made me a bit teary-eyed. Such true words; we do expect so much of ourselves. It helped me to give myself permission not to grow my own tomatoes this year…silly, I know, but it was an expectation I had subconsciously put on myself. It’s good to look at what we’re actually accomplishing and not worry so much about the rest every once in a while – there is such freedom in that.

I am totally inspired by Elizabeth Gilbert’s challenge to not only forgive yourself and in the process be kinder to yourself, but also to do the very best you can right where you find yourself. Often I say to myself: “self acceptance is divine.” All of our answers are right here within us. What a powerful truth to ponder. Thanks again.
