For those interested in the Business in the City events (which are happening monthly now), I have exciting news:
We are now going to be ONLINE and IN PERSON at our December 13th event!
The wonderful people at Next Door who are hosting these free events continue to support and improve this experience. Those in Chicago are welcome to attend in person on Tuesday, December 13th from 6:30-8:00PM. There will be snacks too – last time we had awesome Thai wraps and baked goods with free made-to-order coffee shop drinks.
And for those that don’t live in Chicago, Next Door has found a way to be a part of the action! Read on for details.
How it works in person
Over the course of the past two events we’ve seen the group take shape. In general there is a turnout of about 18-20 people. We talk in a large group about our businesses or business ideas (there is a 50/50 split between business owners and those who are thinking about starting one). We then open the group up to discuss anything and everything relating to small business.
Accounting, company structure, work/life balance, “Spaghetti Numbers,” and product development have all been discussed at length in the past, but each meet up is completely unique and based on the people in the room and the discussion at hand.
All in all, it is a great way to stay motivated, get inspired, and keep growing a business dream.
How it works online
At 6:30 p.m. Central Time on December 13th, Next Door will be on the @NextDoorChicago Twitter account chatting about small business ideas we talk about. If you want to follow the discussion or have questions, include the hash tags #smbiz#AskND in your tweet and I will answer accordingly.
Feel free to comment if you plan on coming in person or online!
