Today’s a big day for three reasons:

  1. Life With Intention Online registration is now open! You can learn more and sign up here.
  2. I’m headed to Alt Summit in Salt Lake City tomorrow to host a podcasting roundtable with Hilary Walker.
  3. I have a new Lively Show episode for you!

Today I’m answering a listener question about how to silence the doubts when making big decisions.

I’m sharing my three tips to help you gain confidence when making big decisions and handle those pesky “what ifs.”

Let’s go to the show!

TLS57BeingMoreIntentional

Today I’m sharing my brand new Intention Setting Mini Series I’ve been working on for you over the past few weeks!

The free three part video series will be launching with the first video on Thursday, but you can sign up to get access to the mini series here (please note: if you are on my email list you do still need to sign up in order to access the course).

The mini series will only be available for a short time, so you’ll want to sign up for free now.

Plus, I’m also sharing the key habits and changes I recommend trying to design your life around your intentions in each area of your life from closet to career.

TheLivelyShowWithJessLively

After seven months and 30 episodes… it’s my turn to be in the hot seat on The Lively Show!

To host this episode, I invited writer, speaker, and coach, Rachel MacDonald, of In Spaces Between and Bright Eyed & Blog Hearted, on the show.

Rachel is a previous Lively Show guest herself, so you may remember her (and her lovely Australian accent).

I asked Rachel to interview me since she is a peer in the work that I do, and I knew that she would be able to give an informed and honest opinion of my work.

In the show, we cover my life, the lessons I’ve learned along the way that apply to us all, and how this journey over the past eight years has led to the work I do with Life With Intention Online.

This episode is perfect for anyone looking to learn more about my journey, or wants to live with more intention and purpose while facing life’s inevitable uncertainty.

PurposeIsNotTheThingYouDo

Many people are searching for “the thing” that is their purpose.

But the truth is, we bring our purpose to the things we do.

For example, how could we possibly pin down the purpose of Benjamin Franklin?

Was his purpose simply to be a writer?

Printer?

Thinker?

Philosopher?

Politician?

Founding Father?

Scientist?

Inventor?

Ambassador?

Wit?

Or father?

Could we pin only one of those roles to his chest and call it “his purpose?”

Never.

His purpose did not exist in the things he did.

It came from within himself, applied to whatever he happened to be doing to serve others in that moment.

Our purpose is not in the things we do.

It is within ourselves, and fused to the things we do when we give ourselves fully to the task at hand right now.

Want to know what to do next?

Ask your gut what it is calling you to do.

Then, give yourself fully to that task.

Once you hear another call, follow it.

Allow your life to be fantastically full of variety, or soulfully stuck to one simple path.

Whichever the case, realize that purpose is not “the thing” you do, it is within you.

TheLivelyShowKrisCarter

Though every episode of The Lively Show is awesome, if I could only ask you to listen to one episode…

THIS ONE IS IT.

I’m talking with Kristoffer Carter, a father of three, intense meditator, full-time employee, multi-instrumentalist, coach, partner with Jonathan Fields, and force behind This Epic Life.

We talk about how he achieves full life integration with everything on his plate.

This show is about everything, applies to everyone, and is so good I hope you listen twice!

AfterTheJump

Normally, today would be a Lively Show day. But with everything going on with the move – and the internet/unpacking limbo that comes along with it – I’ve decided to be kind to myself by not pushing to get this week’s episode up at the expense of my sanity.

However, I do have a new podcast episode for you!

This week I’m on ‘the other side of the mic’ getting interviewed by Grace Bonney, founder of Design*Sponge and the radio/podcast, After The Jump.

Click to listen to the After The Jump episode.

It was a huge honor to talk with Grace about Values-based intentions and some of the things that I cover in Life With Intention Online.

As you will be able to tell from the episode, I am very passionate about what I teach, but the concepts may be a bit ‘big’ to understand completely in a 30 minute episode (hence why the new class will be 5 weeks long to cover what I shared [and much more] in an easy to digest, fun format).

Click to listen to the After The Jump episode.

I hope you check out the episode, or hop over to the Lively Show vault and pick out an episode you may have missed… or want to re-listen to again this week.

Next week, I’ll be back with a fresh new Lively Show. : )

Love,
Jess!

TheLivelyShowWithWhitneyEnglish

Today on The Lively Show we are having an in-depth conversation with business consultant and Day Designer founder, Whitney English

She is an open, vulnerable, and inspiring woman who isn’t afraid to share her journey and the lessons she’s learned along the way.

In this episode, we discuss embracing our intuition, understanding authenticity, and moving forward in the face of failure.

This open and honest conversation is perfect for those interested in becoming more intuitive, overcoming comparison, and dealing with failure (or the fear of it).

A few months ago, I spent a week installing and completing the hotel lobby design project I’ve been working on for the past twenty months (psst: the big reveal is coming up on the blog next week!).

It was a 2,000+ square foot space that had a long ways to go before the grand opening party at the end of the week.

Construction crews, painters, electricians, and woodworkers were scurrying about asking me for opinions and directions. Meanwhile, I had all the styling and decorating to do, and most importantly my big plan was facing the test:

Would it look as good in real life as it did in my vision?

And: Would all of the interested parties – the owners, manager, sales team, and general public like what I spent almost two years creating?

No pressure or anything.

Needless to say, by the middle of that week I was running on empty in every way.

As I went on an early morning run before yet another (insane) workday, I started cry by the lake.

There were so many things out of my control, yet the responsibility for the success of the lobby design rested on my shoulders.

It all seemed like too much… until, I had a breakthrough:

Good morning and happy Thursday Lively Show Day to you!

In today’s episode, I am talking with the candid founder of Design*Sponge, Grace Bonney.

If you’re not already familiar with Grace, she has a (hugely) popular design blog and is the author of Design*Sponge at Home.

IfYouAreFeelingLost

Last week’s Ask Me Anything was a lot of fun! It was so great to help so many of you in such a personal way. I plan on doing another one of these AMA’s in a few months, so stay tuned!

In the meantime, I’d like to address one of the popular phrases that stuck out to me in answering the questions you shared.

“I feel lost.”

Sorry for the delay in this month’s free wallpaper! Getting back from Miami on Tuesday kinda pushed things back a bit.

But better late than never, right?

This cheerful wallpaper has a quote from The Most Overlooked Secret to Finding Your Purpose that I wrote last month. Lauren commented and asked for it to be a wallpaper quote so I decided to take her up on her suggestion!

Also, if you have been struggling to understand how to make intentions and put them into action in every area of your life, I’d love to help you do just that. Today is the last day to sign up for the Life with Intention Online class that starts next Tuesday.

If you think I can help you, I hope you join us.

Have a great weekend and thank you for reading!
