austin workshop recap

It’s hard to believe that I was just in Austin two weeks ago for the Life and Business with Intention workshops!

Austin is an awesome city and the weekend was packed with incredible women that I’m honored to know and serve.

Above you’ll see the Business workshop ladies as well as Becca in the navy skirt on the left, our City Assistant, and Becky in the colorful crystal necklace on the right, our City Foodie.

Here we have a few of our Life workshop ladies (minus Victoria and Julia who left before we snapped this photo).

Becky and Becca did a fantastic job styling the space and feeding us delicious food.

Here are a few peeks at the event.

Just like in Boston, we were spoiled by Phebe of Making Me Events. She shared her vintage collection with us for the weekend.

It always adds such a special touch. Vintage dishes paired with Becky’s cream puffs? I was in heaven.

The rest of the menu for the weekend was just as tasty.

Becky totally scored by having many of our dishes displayed in mini mason jars. She even had a trio of salads, each in their own little jar, which made eating and serving simple.

(I may totally steal this idea when entertaining this summer!)

I was also digging these gold and white chevron straws Becky found for the weekend. A fresh take on the striped straws we usually have.

They kinda remind me of my old paintings, too.

When it came to styling, I loved the laid back look of the colorful blooms and succulents that Becca created in vintage jars.

On the goodie bag front, we had some great new items in addition to a selection of past workshop goodie bag items (here and here).

New to this workshop, we had the beautiful stylings of Everly Modern Calligraphy. Charmaine made each guest her own special name tag.

She also made these stunning hand-scripted just keep going prints. I can’t wait to frame mine and add it to my guest room gallery wall.

In keeping with the gold and white theme, Araya of Wind & Willow Home created these custom white and gold mini succulent planters.

And Jen, of Jennie Claire, came to the Business with Intention workshop and shared her earrings with us in the goodie bag as well.

Interested in how the workshops helped the ladies who joined us? Here’s what they had to say…

Business with Intention

“The Business with Intention workshop is the best thing I’ve done for my business and arguably, myself, both in regards to time and money.

Jess created a safe, collaborative environment for the day and gave a ton of focused, individualized feedback. I left the workshop feeling like my mind had been blown open (in the best way possible).

Jess was able to very quickly ferret out my purpose, which I have been struggling to realize for two years, and give me action steps so that I can start fulfilling my purpose. As a longtime blog reader, I knew meeting Jess and working with her in person would be rewarding and I am still recovering from the shock of how truly impactful it was.

I promise this is not an exaggeration, if you are contemplating working with Jess you should book time with her as soon as you can. You will wonder why you waited so long once she helps bring clarity to your life!”

– Jen, Jennie Claire

“I’ve followed Jess’ journey from MML and Jess LC to her with intention workshops. When I saw that she was holding a workshop in Austin, I knew I wanted to be a part of it.

As someone who is moonlighting a business, it felt fantastic to spend a weekend focusing on my business and how it fits into my life.

I loved meeting Jess and all of the other women who participated in the workshop. It was great tossing around ideas and listening the business and life struggles that everyone else is facing. Jess helped many of the women in our group really focus and find clarity on their businesses and their visions for the lives.

My business still has a long way to go, but Jess’ workshop was the reminder I needed that I know a lot more than I give myself credit for and more than anything, I need to “just keep going.”

– Jamie Lee, Chef Share

“Walking into the Business with Intention workshop I was well aware that my idea of business was foggy at best. Working with Jess helped me to understand my role as a business owner, rather than a girl who designs as a hobby.

More than anything, I think she helped me to broaded my scope of what it means to be a designer. I was so focused and set on just a few specific options and I didn’t even realize I was doing it.

I am so thrilled that I got the opportunity to go and learn while being encouraged by and encouraging others in the process. The small group setting was absolutely amazing.”

– Monica, Monica Estornell

“Working on two simultaneous projects filled with vision and ideas, called for the need to have a more concrete plan and/or focus in order to drive further action and make the entire purpose come to fruition.

I have networked and connected with several wonderful people on this journey, and Jess has been one of them as I took great interest in her writings and the insight/expertise she provides on her site. This was only magnified while attending her Business with Intention workshop.

At the end of the session, I had greater clarity and was able to pinpoint what area of expertise to use.

I recommend this wonderful exercise for any business owner; whether big or small, as we tend to get into the daily details, and it is always great to partner with someone like Jess in order to go back to the big picture and map concrete action that supports the real purpose behind it all.”

Life with Intention

“I am so happy and thankful that I had the opportunity to attend the Life with Intention workshop. It was thought-provoking, eye-opening, revitalizing and refreshing.

Simply put, it was AMAZING!

It was wonderful to spend the day thinking about, writing down and sharing with others the intentions for my life. Whenever I had a question or was unsure about something, Jess was right there to help. Jess was open, honest and real, and her advice was always right on point.

I left the workshop feeling like a cloud had been lifted from my mind. The vision and intentions for my life have never been as clear as they are now. Thank you, Jess, for everything!”

– Lori, A Positive Curl

“My personal life felt stagnant. When Jess announced workshops in my city, I knew I had to attend, though I didn’t know what to expect. There’s no way I could’ve anticipated what a wonderful, enriching experience it would be.

As soon as I walked through the door, Jess made me feel right at home. She created a relaxed and encouraging environment in which it felt natural to be completely honest with everyone–especially myself.

Through Jess’s coaching, I was able to pinpoint what was contributing to my personal rut and identify ways in which I could move past it. The intimate group setting meant that Jess was able to provide a lot of personalized coaching.

By the end of the workshop, I felt a huge sense of relief. I left with tools that I could use long after I said goodbye. Plus, I had the honor of meeting a group of inspiring, strong, and smart women I can stay connected to long after the close of the workshop.

Working with Jess is a positive and uplifting experience that I would recommend to anyone who wants to approach their business and their life with mindfulness and intention.”

City Assistant & Foodie

“To all potential future foodies I would say this – do it! You aren’t going to regret working with Jess, feeding the fabulous ladies of the workshops, or gaining the insight that comes with being a “fly on the wall” during the workshops but you might regret not doing it. I left the workshops with new insights, new friends, and a new outlook. From day one working with Jess and Jen was an absolute pleasure and I would do it again in a heartbeat!”

– Becky, City Foodie, Faking Fabulous
