You summarized my design philosophy quite well! Almost exactly like I do in fact. : )

Oh, and Treasure Mart is one of my favorite local haunts!

Your place is absolutely amazing. I’m getting married in April and may take some of your design ideas and put them into my new place. Love it! Especially the framed picture from your wedding. I love shoe shots!

    1. Jess Lively

Thank you! I’m happy to hear you might use some of my design ideas for your home. And yes, I am loving the hint of wedding in our room without it being too overt… the shoe shot does that perfectly.

  9. Maggie Rose

It looks great! Love seeing your pretty style changed up with the addition of a husband 😉 I find that since living with Ryan my taste has evolved and matured with more depth and layering. Looks like the same is true here! Dying over your brick.

Thanks! There’s less gold, white, and pink… overall. It gets mostly relegated to the guest room. But that’s okay by me. I too, find my style evolving.

Hello, fellow Chicagoan! I’m so glad I caught Grace’s tweet about this d*s post, because it brought me back to your blog, which I’ve stumbled upon in the past but haven’t visited in some time. It’s great to see all of the positive changes you’ve made with the new site. All of the pictures look so pretty!

You guys did a great job of combining two aesthetics in your apartment design. My fiance ended up moving into the Lincoln Park apartment that I’d had for a while, and while I’ve tried to incorporate his likes into our decorating, I got called out on our Apartment Therapy tour for things being too girly! It seems you’ve struck a great balance– in decorating, in work, and in life. Inspiring!
