end of the week exfoliation

The weekend is here! Erwin left this morning for a half day of work followed by a weekend in Ann Arbor for the Notre Dame football game. So it will be a quiet, decorating filled weekend.

I will be staying in Chicago and running one of the longest runs of my training for the San Fransisco Marathon. I don’t mention it too much, but this weekend’s run is 18 miles. I think one of the hardest things for me besides the long mileage and sports bra chaffing, is giving up socializing with friends on Friday nights. But I’ve heard at the finish line of the Nike Women’s Marathon, firefighters in tuxedos hand out Tiffany’s necklaces on silver platters. Which makes it all worthwhile.

Anyone else training for a race or watching some football?

Yeah! I’d love to have the bag!

Happy running! I don’t know how you runners do it! But firefighters in tuxedos and Tiffanys could make it more alluring for sure!

I’d love to run the San Francisco Marathon. Maybe one day…. I am training for the Tucson marathon and have a 16 miler tomorrow. The hardest thing for me is giving up the sweets. 18 is a challenging distance. Remember just one mile at a time and before you know it you’ll be done. Good luck on your run tomorrow.

@ Vicki: Great, I will email you tomorrow about the bag.

    @ Jill: It’s definitely a good selling point :).

@ Leigh: Great! I hope your makunder goes well.

@ Christina: Giving up sweets!? Generally (for better or worse) my marathon eating philosophy is eat whatever I want, I’ll run it off tomorrow. I admire your discipline. Tucson sounds great! I hope your 16 mi went well. My run went well. Over the years I’ve started training during the week lightly and just focusing on the long runs has worked out to keep me healthier and happier with my training.

Oh my goodness, I am so inspired.
Show us the goods – after the finish line!

Hehe. While you are doing an 18-mile training run, I’m doing a 16-mile training walk. Your marathon must be getting close…

good for you jess! I have been running, but not that far yet. however, i would have to add that “yes”… hot men handing out Tiffany’s would sure make me go further!

  8. Hi! Brooke sent me your way and I’m so glad! I am also in the regular habit of “exfoliating” (sometimes the the chagrin of some of my family members – who don’t want to get rid of their holey shoes from over ten years ago!!!) and have often thought about blogging about it. For now, I spend too much time on the internet as it is so I keep a list to remind myself of all that has been mine and has now moved on to places where it is all much better loved and used.

Funny, though. I’m eager to ADD today to my collection (for an event coming up, so only for a short time!). If nobody has claimed them yet, I’d love to snag those mini light blue take-out boxes. Thanks!
