Oh man! Today I have HUGE giveaway for you all! Are you familiar with the rug company, Flor? You might have seen their floor tiles online, in their catalog or stores, or even in the CB2 store like me. I’ve been scoping out these modern rugs since last year when I moved to my new apartment. Due to budget constraints and the inability to pick just one style, I’d been putting off the decision making process… Until they reached out and offered to gift me and one lucky MML giveaway winner the rugs of our choice!
Today the Flor team is here to help all of us in the process of making our spaces reflect our intentions. Scroll below to see a sample of their awesome variety, learn a bit more about the tiles themselves, and to see the giveaway details.
What a great way to add interest to a hallway.
What Flor Says About the Tiles:
At FLOR, we make design-inspired carpet squares that come in a range of vivid colors, rich textures, and modern styles that all coordinate together to create custom designs that are as original as you.
FLOR squares assemble together easily with patented FLORdotsâ„¢ – no nails, padding or glue – so they’re removable, washable and replaceable.
FLOR squares are made with varying degrees of renewable and recycled materials and are designed to be among the lowest VOC emitting products in the residential flooring industry. And, when FLOR has lived its useful life, you can return the squares to us to be recycled through our Return & Recycle Program, ensuring that no FLOR products end up in a landfill.
How much fun would this be in a kids room?
What a great neutral. Not to mention that is an adorable Westie statue. (Leave it to me to notice the Westie.)
Thanks to the amazingly kind folks at Flor, this herringbone pattern (suspiciously similar to chevron…) is going to become my new office rug in my apartment this fall. Love.

What a great giveaway! I really could use a rug for under my kitchn table. I think the Corrugated Rib would be absolutely perfect. Flor has some amazing options!!
What a fun giveaway, crazy, because I was just thinking about FLOR the other day… I would like a very skinny strip of rug for in my kitchen…. my favorite is the faux bois. I just LOVE the herringbone pattern you chose. I will look great in your office!
What an exciting giveaway! I’ve wanted a rug for our dining room since we moved in last year, and it is a big room which = big, expensive rug. This would be amazing. 🙂 I love the faux bois pattern tiles!
This giveaway was meant for me! I desperately need a fabulous rug in my living room. I found one at FLOR. Loving the Lattice! Thanks to you and FLOR for the awesome giveaway. Now if you’ll excuse me, I have some fingers to cross 🙂
Flor is awesome…I’ve always wanted one but just haven’t had the extra cash. I love the Faux Bois, Lattice or Serengeti (in Brook).
I just recently was given a birthday gift of flor tiles that I wanted to create a rug in my living room! I used Toe the Line. I would LOVE to use more of Toe the Line for our hallway! Hooray for Flor!
Wow! How exciting!
I would totally love the ‘All Wrapped Up Rug Kit’! I’m a sucker for stripes!
I love the Modern Mix in Blue. It would go perfectly in my living room, and has the same pattern as a painting we already have hanging there!
This is so awesome!
I would love the Faux Bois in Moon/Bisque for our dining room!
What a great giveaway! I have been in love with Flor since waaay back in the days of my stint as an architectural design intern! I can’t say that choosing would be easy if I won, because I’m basically in love with every single striped pattern they have. I suppose if REALLY pressed, my favorite at the moment is the Ascot Stripes in the blue.
OMG what an awesome giveaway! I have been looking for the perfect rug for either my kitchen or laundry room entrance (everyone enters my house through our laundry room and I NEED to spruce it up a bit). I would absolutely LOVE the side-by-side black and white striped FLOR tiles. I love the look of black and white and think it would be the perfect match!
I have been looking for a rug for our master bedroom for a while now (like 2+ years)!! My current favorite is http://www.flor.com/service/flor/shop/rug/Botanicals/R122000003-98236.html
I love the color and the pattern!!
Wow! These are gorgeous and I had no idea that they existed! Had been avoiding placing a rug in our living room (hard wood floors) as our 9 year old cockapoo is prone to accidents on occasion. The Faux Bois in Moon/Bisque would work perfectly with our neutral couch and butter colored walls. Thanks for the giveaway!
I would put the rug in my entry way. I would either choose the herringbone pattern or Black & White 4 Rug Kit. I love this company!!
The Feelin’ Groovy in Lime would look so great in our spare bedroom!! I’ve always wanted a Flor rug… time to cross the fingers 🙂
My husband and I are saving up to put wood flooring in our main areas so that my son can get around when he gets a wheelchair {carpet feels good, but it’s a bugger for the little fella to move through!}. I like the idea of having something under the coffee table to ground it, so I think that’s where I’d use Flor. I would pick the faux bois or rake me over style…maybe twist and shout. I’m feeling rather indecisive. 😉
I love the side-by-side pattern, in either the pewter or black and white. So chic! I think I would use them in my dining room.

I love this idea! I like the finer things in sand and would use it in our office / guest room. Great giveaway!
I really need more time to decide, there are so many option. I love the Stampede Pattern for our bedroom or some Striped Poodle for my new studio. Love them!
I would choose Toy Poodle in “Blue Heeler” for several reasons: (1) My BF’s new galley kitchen is SCREAMING out for a colorful runner/rug, and (2) my BF went to Duke, so I’m sure he’ll really appreciate the Tar Heel nod. 😉
Ooo fun! I love Flor rugs! I really like the Short Shag in Acorn and would use it in my family room.
OMG I LOVE LOVE LOVE Flor tiles. I forgot how I first heard of them, but have been a fan since. I would get All Bark & No Bite in Pewter. We’re moving into a new apartment that’s ALL hardwood floors so I could definitely use that in our bedroom or the living room.
This is a fantastic giveaway! After a lot of looking, I think I like the Two of Hue set — and it’s perfect, because we need a new rug for our living room! Thanks for hosting!
I love FLOR! A bit out of my grad school student budget, though. Our apartment is all wood floors, we could use a rug in the living room or the bedroom. I like the Herringbone you chose but I also really like the Short shag in Moon
I love FLOR, too – such an exciting giveaway! I really like the “Best of both wools – Gotland Stripe” for my dining room!
What an awesome giveaway! I have been lamenting the fact that I need a new rug but I can’t afford one. I would use the black and white Side by Side tiles in my living area to give the space a pop of pattern, in a classic way. Hope I win!!
I love the rake me over especially with a plum lime & breeze combo. It would definitely be perfect in me and my roomie’s living room. We have an area rug but its definitely seen better days and with a new rug out place may just be complete. 🙂
Just realized that the one I picked may be the same as the excluded option in the italicized print at the bottom of your post – in that case, my second favorite is the “Shiny Happy Stripe” in platinum.
I love the faux bois! It would go in my living room, where the floors are cold and hard and some soft warmth from a rug is needed!
I’ve been eyeing the Shiny Happy Stripe tiles in Bronze/Cream. Would be a lovely addition to my colorless entryway!!! LOVE Flor!
Great giveaway, Jess!
I’ve been creating a new master bedroom for my hubby and myself based upon a Miles Redd bedroom image I happened upon a while back (here’s an image of it: http://bp1.blogger.com/_1zGI45V5Qm4/RX6jurFzSFI/AAAAAAAAALo/Q4k6KeuaDXw/s1600-h/30.jpg), and while I have been searching and searching – unsuccessfully – for a black and white chevron rug in my price range, I think that the black and white side by side rug pieces by flor might actually be a really great solution. What do you think? Am I crazy? I wonder if the pieces can be lined up so that they aren’t alternating and perpendicular and so on. Anyway. I’ve always loved these flor pieces. And what a great price on them, really!
Love the Flora Rug Kit! I’d use it in my living room.
I love the ascot stripe in Ginger! and they’re all really great — how functional.
I love the lattice patters! I would put it in my kitchen under the table.
Susan, I found this photo on the Flor Facebook Fan page. So, to answer your earlier question, yes…Side-by-Side can run perpendicularly.

And now for my second comment. Here is the link to the photo of my living room on the Facebook page.

I need a rug in my craft/guest room!
I love the foux boix in the bisque/reed colorway
Ahhhh, I loveeee Flor rugs. If There Be Thorns is by far my new favorite. Love, love, love it. It would be so perfect in our kitchen!
This is a great giveaway! The Yeah, Baby or If There Be Thorns would be good for our music room.
I LOVE Flor. I devour the paper catalog each time it comes. I’m not sure which rug I’d pick yet, but I would definitely put it in my living room. It’s a largish space, and it needs something to tie it together.
Ohh, FLOR! I think I’d have to pick the Lattice in Bisque/Cinnabar. I currently live in a small flat in SF with three roommates, but I think it’d have to go in the kitchen of my (imminent) new place with my boyfriend!

I would choose the Hello Down There tiles. Those are seriously the coolest carpeting I have ever seen!! I would use them in the space I am staying in now, which is a room in my sister’s house. . . .OR, I could wait until the end of summer, and put them in my own apartment! 🙂
I would want the hello down there tiles and I would put them in my dorm this fall.
“All Wrapped Up Rug Kit” in Summer colors for our living room area! We have a boring, cheap gray rug in there now, and this would be a cheerful addition to our tiny studio! Thank you for the opportunity to win a wonderful, earth-friendly product that we’ve been admiring for quite a while!
Great giveaway! We really need a rug for what will be our baby’s room in a few short months. It’s currently the office and has a very “office-y” rug in it which will just not do! I love the colors in the Squared Silly Rug Kit. 🙂

I love the Herringbone – it would look great in my bedroom!
I need a rug in my new dining room. Rake Me Over is the one for me! Thanks for such an awesome opportunity! Enjoy the day, Erin
I’d get the herringbone rug that you’re getting. Great choice!
I’ve been craving their Souk Chi rug forever
Kismet – is exactly what this post is! I ordered some Flor samples last week and know precisly which pattern I’d choose: Channel Surfing in Black & White! It’s for our living room, where we recently installed hardwood.
FLOR is my newest and most favorite discovery on the planet. I just moved from Chicago to (unbearably hot) Houston to be with my boyfriend. He picked out a really sub-par couch that sits on slippery laminate flooring in the living room. We desperately need a kick-ass rug to offset his couch choice, and to save our dogs from slipping and sliding all over the laminate floor (while funny for us, dangerous for them!)
I would love to have the Haute Stuff Rug Kit in orange to match the colors in our living room! The dogs, and I, would be very super happy. Thanks for sharing this, love your blog!
OMG! I have been thinking about this flor-ing for a week! I saw it in a magazine layout (but of course now I can’t remember which one) That’s the power of positive thinking for you. I am so going to win this! I want to replace the old 8×10 potterybarn rug in my living room. In fact I’m going to redo the whole room in a more modern/coastal living feel. I love the Fez 2 + The More the Merrier. But don’t hold me to it. I’m notorious for changing my mind!
Love this giveaway! My husband and I are currently in the market for a rug for our living room. For the past year, we’ve been decorating our first home together. It’s all coming together, but would look even better with the Stitch In Time rug (in Primary)!!
i too love the herringbone. we just bought our first place (!!!!!!) and can’t get past the flooring debate – wood vs carpet vs tile. this would make us both happy… wood floors for me, with carpet tiles for him!
What a great giveaway! I too, have never ordered because its so hard to choose just one! But, I’m going to say the black and white rug kit for my dining room! I can change the accessories if I need to.
I love the herringbone rug as well. So pretty!
What a great giveaway! I love the Modern Mix red pattern. It would go great in our living room and add some color!!!
Oh..I love FLOR 4ever!
I like Favorite Jeans.
http://www.flor.com/service/flor/shop/item/Favorite-Jeans/1009U02500-9257.html
We’re moving into a house with hardwood floor and it would be nice to have an area rug for the living room.
AWESOME giveaway!!!
Quality Time in Maple for my living room–the building is from 1910 and has some great art glass, and I want a rug for our hardwood floors that won’t compete with the crazy colors we have going on in the windows. Plus I love the idea of being able to switch out carpet tiles, since rugs of any kind are a magnet for our pets.
I love these FLOR tiles! So versatile and creative…
I would use the ‘All Bark & No Bite’ in my bedroom…hardwood floors in bedrooms get awfully chilly (any time of year) and these tiles would definitely warm things up!
I love Flor and have wanted a Flor tile rug in my home forever. I’d choose the Straight & Narrow in the gray colorway and put it in my entryway. I need a rug there so bad – the one we have is so undersized and we can’t cough up the dough for a bigger one right now. Hope I win!

I just can’t decide! There are so many options! I really do love the Lattice from the Martha Stewart collection, and it does remind me a bit of the Jess LC logo…. perhaps that is the pick. I think I need more rooms in my house!
What a fabulous giveaway! I had never heard of them before but I am sold! I love the concept and designs! I don’t know how to choose!
Probably would try either the faux bois or any of the striped patterns.
Thanks so much:)
I love “Natural Born Talent rug – so pretty!
FLOR tiles are awesome. We used them in the entry hall of our previous home. I would love to use Shirt Stripe tiles (in French Cuff) in our guest room to add a little style. Plus, as an added bonus, an area rug will prevent the dust bunnies from blowing across the room if I occassionally skip vaccuming under the bed in there.
Thanks for Sharing Jess! We are renovating our first home- DIY style. In our living, we knocked down part of a wall, took out the popcorn from the ceiling, have a new coat of paint and hardwood floors. The “Fret Knot” rugs will be an awesome addition.
We just moved from San Francisco to Chicago and we desperately need rugs. We thought getting a 3 bedroom apartment for what we were paying for a studio would be great, except now we need furniture to fill it!! I feel so guilty that we don’t have any rugs, I’m actually avoiding our downstairs neighbors.
I love the Botanical in moss for our living room.
I really like the herringbone rug or natural born talent. Both are beautiful!
I love the If Ther Be Thorns in rose and the Mod Zebra. Ah, so many choices!
I haven’t decided yet, but I like the Lattice, Faux Bois, Side by Side, and Herringbone. Our office/spare bedroom/dumping zone definitely needs a little sprucing up and a rug might just be the beginning.
Nice giveaway! I’m in need of a rug for my living room, and I’d probably go with the Faux Bois in moon/bisque, though I am liking the herringbone too…
oh wow – i too, have been coveting Flor rugs, they are so unique and beautiful!
we JUST closed on our new home (SO excited) and i have so many ideas of what i’d want to do but ideally first and foremost we’d need to carpet our main entrance/living room area. That area will have a lot of foot traffic. I’d either go with the Herringbone Kit or Warm & Wooly Rug Kit.
Thanks for this great offer!
This is a great giveaway!! I really need a rug in my bedroom and I’d probably go for the Velvet Twist in Moon 🙂 Thanks for sharing this with us!!!
I could really put the Flor Outdoor 4 Rug Kit in Multi to good use right now … I would create a colorful, non-slip pathway with it on the concrete floor of the garage that connects the outside pool area to the main house. Stylish and practical!
These rugs are beautiful. I think I would choose the shiny happy stripe in gold/cream for my living room. They are all so great!!
What a great giveaway! I love Flor! I’d choose the Botanicals tiles in Pale Blue and I’d put them in my mom’s living room. She’s been wanting an area rug for the longest time but it’s never been in the budget.
I have been eyeing the “Finer Things” for my home office and “Straight and Narrow” for my kitchen.
Yay for this giveaway! I know everyone says it, but I just moved back home two days ago and would love, love, love the Modern Mix carpet for my home office.
I love Flor! There are too many good ones to choose from. I think my favorite (today) is the Modern Mix, which would either go in my entryway or my kitchen. I also really, really love the Well Suited herringbone pattern, also for the same space! Decisisions, decisions.
Thanks to you and Flor for the great giveaway!
To go out of my comfort zone, you know the one with “classic” colors and patterns, I want El Tigre for my living room. I’ve been looking for something for the room and this would be an eyecatching statement.
I would have to choose the Best of Both Wools, but I may just change my mind 100 times before this contest is over.
I have been saving my pennies for Black & White 1 rug kit. I love it.
I just bought a house and really need rugs to replace our dirty old carpet that has tacks sticking through! I’d love to use Flor tiles in my living room or upstairs hallway. My favorites are Morning Coffee, Modern Mix and Lattice.
I love the Faux Bois print! I see so many possibilties. I would love it in my studio space, my living room, or even using them in a booth space at craft fairs.
Awesome giveaway! My favorite is the rug you featured, the “Friendly Footing Rug Kit.” Alternatively, I like the Modern Mix in moon. Yay Flor!! 🙂
I really like the Haute Stuff rug kit! it’d look great in my dining room!
If you have chosen to decorate your home with rugs, there are some things that you should consider before doing so: You should consider the color scheme of the room you want to lay the rug in. You want your rug to be of a similar color to the rug or otherwise the colors are going to clash and it might not look very good.
