TLS #68: Overcoming Death, Debt and Depression with Hal Elrod (The Miracle Morning)

Welcome to the start of the second season of The Lively Show!

Today’s episode is with bestselling author of The Miracle Morning, keynote speaker, and success coach, Hal Elrod.

Hal will be sharing huge highs (shattering sales records, living the life of his dreams), and how he overcame huge lows (getting killed in a car crash, being told he’d never walk again, $53,000 of debt, and depression).

Plus, he’ll be sharing the six practices that we can all begin to add to our days in less than an hour to transform our own lives.

This episode is for anyone who loves to hear an incredible journey, or wants to live more intentionally through six effective daily habits.

  • How Hal broke several sales records at his first sales position and landed a speaking career in his early 20’s.
  • The two key traits that led to breaking many sales records throughout Hal’s career.
  • The tragic accident that ended his life for six minutes.
  • The mindset Hal had that led to an incredible and almost complete recovery that baffled his doctors who told him he would never walk again.
  • How Hal strikes balance between fully accepting his circumstances and striving for the extraordinary life he truly wants.
  • The second rock bottom that Hal experienced in his life that sent him into an even deeper spiral than the death/near death experience he had in his early 20’s.
  • The simple, practical steps that Hal took to get himself out of over $50,000 in credit card debt, depression, and fear during the darkest period of his life.
  • The quote that changed Hal’s life around during a challenging period.
  • The six practices that Hal recommends we all do in the morning to expand our level of personal development and potential.
  • Hal shares his advice on making actionable, realistic affirmations and visualizations.
  • The mindset shift that helped Hal write his second book after failing two years previously.
  • What Hal would say to those just starting out on this journey.

I have been using the Miracle Morning method for the past 6 months. It has changed my life. I have a business, a family, and a personal life that feels slightly more in balance because of it. It works. And you can’t go wrong with Hal. Thanks for sharing this interview. Glad you and the show are back.

    1. Thank you so much for sharing your awesome results from using the Miracle Morning, Julia!

That’s so great to hear. What is your fave part? I’m working on adding the visualizations and affirmations to my routine, too. : )

Jess, I would say the part I like most is the act of blocking off the time as mine. I don’t have much in the way of time that I can claim as mine and dedicate to self improvement, so I like that this practice makes it easy and manageable. I have found a deep connection through the medication practice and the visualization methods. Both have helped me find my way through some challenging times, especially as I grow and develop my business. Thanks again for finding such great people to interview.

  2. Welcome back Jess! And what an episode, one of my favourites.
PS. I would highly recommend Lisa Eldridge on YouTube. She does makeup tutorials but is the most lovely, relaxing woman!

    1. I’m glad you enjoyed the show, Georgie! Also, thanks for the tips about Lisa, I’ll check her out!

  3. So glad you’re back! This was an amazing episode. Like you, I’ve been doing some of the morning rituals, but not all. I’m stepping it now and going for it. Thanks for the inspiration and motivation, as always.

    1. Yay! So glad to hear you’re like me and trying out the other ones we haven’t been doing before. Cheers to your extended miracle morning. : )

  4. Jess, this might be my favorite Lively Show episode yet. Hal is such an inspirational, smart guy! I have The Miracle Morning on my Kindle—I look forward to reading it and applying the Life SAVERS Hal shared in this episode!
