introducing the business with intention workshop

I’m proud to announce that the Business with Intention site and workshop are now live!

The Business with Intention Workshop is designed to help current and soon-to-be business owners develop a defined vision for their businesses and then give them the tools to make it happen.

And I know everyone has been wondering where we are headed first. Based on your feedback we chose…

Chicago and…

Washington DC!

You can read the complete details here as well as some of the main points below.

The day long workshop will help you create meaningful goals and intentions for your business that allow you to push past personal barriers along with the nuts and bolts of then making that dream come true.

The course will focus primarily, but not exclusively on:

  • Creating an intentional business
  • Work/life balance, time management, and delegating
  • Effective branding
  • Selling via wholesale, retail, and online
  • Interacting online and using social media to your advantage
  • Website 101 and 102
  • Marketing online and offline

The event itself will be in a fun, positive, and inspiring space that allows you to connect with other business owners in a small group setting and imagine bigger and bolder things for your business.

The event will have a light breakfast and full lunch, along with a few surprises along the way.

The first half of the day will be devoted to creating a complete vision for your business followed by a group discussion about the barriers, challenges, and opportunities to make life and business work together in a deeply satisfying way.

Then, in the afternoon we will get into the trenches and discuss the steps needed to make that plan a reality. Please see the specific business topics listed in the “What will it cover?” section above.

And all along the way you will be able to ask questions and get personalized feedback on your business in it’s current state so that you have direct feedback to work with going forward.

In addition to the information shared above, you will walk out of the Business with Intention Workshop with:

  • A course binder and USB filled with tips, tricks, and information to help guide your next steps
  • A clear sense of what you want out of your business — and a plan to make it happen
  • Connections and friendships with the business owners in your class

Rather than do the planned 10% discount for the people who participated in our survey, I’ve decided to make the first two event registration fees even sweeter for everyone.

For these two events only we are deducting $50 off of what we estimate to be the fee for future workshops. To register, head over to the Chicago or Washington DC pages.

And… the first five people who register for a workshop will get a free one-on-one hour long consultation with me after their workshop. These first five people will be contacted by me directly to let them know they won the consultation via email.

I would also like to take a moment to thank the wonderful people who have helped me launch this endeavor, without their help, support, and talent, I would not be able to make Business with Intention a reality.

Clara of Clara Persis Events has been with me along this journey from day one. She has helped me take what was once just an idea and make it a real workshop which will not only help people and their business goals, but also be a wonderful, beautiful, and inspiring experience. I can’t thank her enough for her support, encouragement, and brilliant ideas.

And Lisa, of Elembee Creative has been a wonderful designer taking the thoughts in my head and putting them to pixels. It’s definitely not that easy to make a site happen, and she did it extremely well and incredibly fast. I can’t thank – or recommend – her enough. If you are looking for a designer, she’s your girl.

Of course it goes without saying that Mr. Lively needs to be recognized. He has been with me every step of this journey. It has been a challenge to launch this on top of Jess LC and MML and he hasn’t complained once. Though I’m working longer and harder, he’s been supportive and insanely helpful with many of the technical details that go along with domain redirects, registration button codes, and any general anxiety attacks I face. Without him I would be a way less balanced person with a mediocre web presence. Thank you.

And last but not least, thank you all right here on MML for supporting me as I take this next step. I realized last night that this new venture has new level of meaning for me. Though I’ve stepped into new territory in business many times before, this one is closest to my heart and purpose. This one is the most personal. And I thank you for helping me get the courage to step into this new chapter of my life and career.

Registered!! My heart is beating out of my chest. I can’t tell you how excited I am or how perfect the timing of this workshop is. I logged on to your website to email you about a business with intention and the link was gone… but this, this is so exciting.

Thanks so much for registering, Besty! You are one of the first five who are getting a free one-on-one call after the workshop! (There are still more free consults out there for others who are thinking about registering…)

    Thanks, SEM!!

I am so excited you picked D.C. I am sooooo there! P.S. I am the Lab Manager at the Affinity Lab ( which is a coworking space for creative artists and entrepreneurs so if you are in need of space we might be a good place to host 🙂 That would make this extra sweet for me lol.
