TLS #109: Facing Our Biggest Fears in 2016 with Jen Hansard

Today’s Lively Show is a fun and inspiring topic – with an equally fun and inspiring guest!

We’re chatting with Jen Hansard, the co-founder of the extremely popular site, Simple Green Smoothies, about her journey and the lessons she’s learned from facing her biggest fears in 2015.

I happen to have this same “face your fears challenge” laid out for myself in 2016, and I hope that Jen’s personal experiences inspire others who may want to move past their fears next year, too.

This episode is perfect for anyone looking to hear the story of how the Simple Green Smoothies brand began, or anyone looking to get inspired to face their fears – both big and small – in 2016.

  • Jen tells us the story of how she shifted her design business to Simple Green Smoothies.

  • She describes the transition of her new business with her partner Jadah Sellner and what they went through while growing.

  • Jen talks about her “genius zone” and what that is about for her..

  • She shares what her focus was during 2015 and how she needed to overcome a some challenges in her life.

  • Jen shares her big moment  for this year which was fight fear and stop it from running aspects of her life.

  • She describes the process she made to do the things that scared her until they didn’t scare her anymore.

  • Jen also tells us about her fear of public speaking and why it was import to overcome.

  • She tells us about her doubts and internal resistance and her struggle to gain confidence in herself.

  1. I’ve listened to some of your interviews and none has touched me as Rachel MacDonald’s until this one. I’ve been facing fears and also realizing fears I didn’t even know I had. This was an incredible real talk and I thank you and Jen Hansard for that. It helped me find answers to some questions I had about what I’m doing in 2016.

    1. That’s wonderful to hear, Dani!! So glad this episode and Jen’s story touched you and helped you on your journey. : )

I never would have guessed this is one of your first interviews, Jen! You have a great presence on air. Thank you for your thoughts!

I have been binge listening to your podcasts since October and I’m finally caught up. I have truly loved listening and have shared MULTIPLE episodes with my husband, who has been struggling and battling demons but has made great strides over the past 6 months.
Anyway, related to this particular podcast and your fear to overcome traveling alone for an extended period of time, I have to recommend another blog I’ve been following: Jenna Sue has been a DIY/home improvement blogger, and just got back from a 3-month solo trip to Southeast Asia where she did some soul searching. She might actually be an interesting person to interview as well, if it’s a mutual fit.
Looking forward to 2016’s podcasts! Have a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year!

    1. Thank you so much for this lovely message, Kim! And for sharing Jenna’s story with me, too!
