As mentioned, I’ve read a quarter of the Julie & Julia Project book with lukewarm feelings, despite my excitement for the movie.
On Saturday, Kaitlyn and I did see the film and definitely enjoyed it. The food. The bruschetta. I don’t know how they did it, but that food looked amazing.
Did anyone else see it this weekend? What did you think?
We thought it was good. I did found myself comparing the movie to the actual book for the first 30 minutes, but luckily I began to let go of my assumptions and actually enjoy the story being told on film. I adored Julia, and Kaitlyn found a strong connection with Julie (she happens to be a food blogger with an adorable boyfriend as well). I think it’s safe to say that if I ever do finish the book, I will continue to prefer the movie more.

I havn’t seen the movie yet, but I am very excited too! Thanks for the review! =)
I saw the movie on Saturday night. I liked it, but not quite as much as I thought I would. I loved the Julia part of the story, but couldn’t really relate to Julie. Overall though, it was still a very cute and entertaining movie.
Did you feel that the ending was sort of unresolved? Because my friends and I sort of felt that way.
@ Kim: No problem! I hope you like it too.
@ Laina: Yep, I felt it was kind of unresolved. I swear I thought Julia was going to walk in the Smithsonian set to meet Julie. But in a way I think it was nice that there wasn’t a resolution, it does seem more real that way.
I am so excited to see this movie! So happy you liked it :). Going this weekend!!
LOVED LOVED LOVED the movie – one of my favorite movies of 2009!
Haven’t seen the movie yet, but it’s on my list to do this week!
You weren’t kidding about the bruschetta. I love Amy Adams and thought she was so fun to watch… my mom kept looking at me and laughing – relating to the “You have 1 comment: your mom”…
Good flick.
@ Carolyn, Lauren, Julie, and Brooke: Enjoy the movie to those who have yet to see it. And I’m glad Brooke and Lauren liked it too :).
I just saw the movie this weekend & loved it.
