the lively show: thriving after eating issues with lauryn lax (meant to thrive)

TheLivelyShowLaurynLax

Today I have a particularly touching, vulnerable, and powerful episode of The Lively Show.

I’m talking with Lauryn Lax of Meant to Thrive about her 14 year battle with anorexia.

In the show, we discuss how she eventually overcame her near-death struggle, and what she recommends for others who struggle with eating issues.

Her journey truly transcends just the eating disorder world and can be powerful for anyone who struggles with negative mental thought loops.

This episode is perfect for anyone with eating issues, anyone who knows someone with eating issues, or anyone wants to understand and overcome negative mental thought loops overall.

IN THIS EPISODE YOU’LL FIND OUT ABOUT

  • How a single childhood moment sparked an almost deadly 14 year battle with weight and eating.

  • What hospitalization was like for Lauryn over the years, and the problems with many traditional approaches to eating disorders.

  • How an eating disorder which stemmed from wanting to people please and be popular, backfired and isolated her from her friends and loved ones.

  • Why her anorexia eventually reached crippling levels.

  • The miracle that saved Lauryn’s life at the gym.

  • What Lauryn’s eventual recovery looked like and how she overcame her eating disorder after 14 years.

  • What Lauryn would tell the fourth grader that sparked her eating disorder if she could go back in time.

  • How to approach a friend or acquaintance if you are concerned about their health.

  • What Lauryn would tell someone just starting out on this journey.
