Happy New Year!

In today’s Lively Show, I’m sharing the areas I’m planning to focus on the most in my life in 2016. After so many many changes personally, logistically, and professionally in 2015, this is going to be a BIG year for me on many levels.

I’ll be sharing my biggest Values-based intentions, areas of personal growth, and my travel plans.

This episode is perfect for anyone curious to know what I’m focusing on in 2016.

I’m focusing on gratitude. 2015 has been difficult, but I don’t want difficulty to be the focus of my life or even 2015. I want 2016 to be a year of grace and gratitude. I want to accept what is and come to appreciate it. I created a blog to help me catalog the things I’m grateful for each day, to keep me accountable. (
Thank you for your podcast. The recent podcasts seem to come from a new place for you, and I appreciate that.

I am continuing my journey on living more mindfully, particularly in terms of possessions. I have been in a journey of mindful acquiring, using, and consuming products. I found that this has spread over to other areas of my life, not just about “stuff” but the mentality of “not enough.” I consider this my daily exercise in gratitude (a step up from keeping gratitude journal/gratitude meditation, so to speak).

I may start a journey in maximizing my life through epigenetic — v. fascinating concept that resonates with my background training and experience. It includes all aspect of life, not just diet, but exercise, meditation, emotion, sleep. I have to sit down with this first and see what I intend to tackle.

    1. I love your focuses!! And I can second what you say about Bea, her episode changed my life, too. So inspring, right?!

      Happy new year!

I love this quick episode, Jess! Your view on life is so inspiring and even though I’m a rather sporadic listener, a lot of guests just don’t resonate with my current season of life, I always love when you share wisdom with us. And bonus points for bringing Lara Casey back today 😉 I absolute love her and have used her annual goal setting series on her blog for the second time this year to set meaningful and intentional goals. In 2016 I want to focus on “growth” in all areas of my life and I can’t wait to get started!

PS: If you make it to Europe and find yourself in either London or Berlin, I would LOVE to meet you 😉

    1. This is wonderful to hear, Kristina. I’m glad you enjoyed hearing Lara again as well. : )

Good luck in your growth and I hope I get to meet you in London when I’m there!

Hi Jess! I have loved every single one of your podcasts episodes from 2015 and cannot wait to hear what you have in store for us listeners in 2016! My biggest focus in 2016 is on becoming a mom. I will be a first time mom come June so my primary focus is on self care and motherhood. I still want to continue to grow in other areas as well so I just started reading the book Miracle Mornings by Hal Elrod and am looking forward to approaching my morning with focus and personal development. Lastly, I am also focusing on self evolution through an approach by Alyshia Ochse. She has a book called “Life Letters: Key to your soul… a journey into the Self. This book was given to me by a dear friend of mine and I love how it encourages development along with self love. I am looking forward to hearing all about your journeys in 2016 and if any of them bring you to Denver or the mountains of Colorado, then this Jess Lively listener and fellow former jewelry designer from Chicago would love to meetup 🙂 Wishing you much happiness and FUN in 2016!

    1. Yay! Congratulations on your new little, Brooke. I hope this year’s focuses and your new rituals bring you loads of peace + joy!

For 2016 my focus is to continue my journey in healing, be able to speak Spanish conversationally, learn to play the cello, spend a lot more time training and working with my four dogs, and engage with more people on a deeper level. If you’re ever in Oklahoma this year or nearby, let me know! I’ll treat you to breakfast/lunch/dinner. 🙂

    1. This is wonderful to hear, Melissa! I love that you are learning to play the cello. I would like to spend more time training my dog, Ellie, too. : )

    Hey Jess!
I’m a new listener of your show and I’ve gotta say I’m loving it so far – so glad I found you! It’s inspiring to hear what you’re getting up to this year. Congrats on having Brene Brown on the show – i’ll definitely be tuning in for that!
I’m doing something a bit different myself. My major focus of this year is to start my business! I want to make a difference in the lives of female entrepreneurs, educating and empowering them to market themselves online.
Thank you for being so generous with your knowledge! x

    1. This is wonderful to hear, Jessica! Best wishes with your focus this year. I hope you enjoy the BB episode next week as well. : )
