what i’m learning about balancing career and marriage

WhatI'mLearningCareerAndMarriageTomorrow on What I’m Learning Wednesday, I’m discussing what I’ve learned (so far) about careers and marriage. This is a topic that Mr. Lively and I talked about at length on the way home from Michigan this weekend.

In the email, I will also be dishing on the habits we are implementing in our relationship to help strike a better balance in this area.

Excited to hear your take on this. My first year of freelance took a toll on my relationships (romantic, social, family). But I don’t think I would have learned as much as I did without going through the period of imbalance.

I know how that can be. I won’t be discussing working a ton, but I will be discussing how to discuss work in a marriage, if that makes sense. : )

Ahh! The advice and approach you & the Mr. are taking is great. My other half and I respectfully ask one another to halt discussions about work if it becomes negative or goes on for too long! He and I are not in the same fields so it’s a little easier to “disconnect” in that regard. Wishing you both the best in your new approach to balance!

Thanks! It’s great to hear this topic was helpful for you both as well. I love that you already have that ‘halt’ habit implemented in your relationship. Wonderful!
