who are you now?

This is my battle cry as I start a fresh new chapter!

Is anyone else starting their own fresh chapter today, too?

I am actually. I sat down over the weekend and worked through my life and career intentions. Today is my first day implementing actions steps and ohh weee. Your famous phrase actually is my driving force…start and keep going!

Thanks Jess. I just took a few minutes break from one of my intentions, and I am actually chugging along on a lot of inspiration especially one I re-read on your blog last night from the 4hour-workweek.

“Don’t confuse the complex with the difficult.
Most situations are simple – many are just emotionally difficult to act
upon. The problem and the solution are usually obvious and simple.”

I identified what was emotionally difficult for me in terms of action, addressed it and went for it. I just finished a chapter worth of work I have been pushing back on for a while. Pheww! Thanks again, you are helping a lot of people. Never doubt that.

        1. Awesome! Way to go, AdeOla! And seriously, thank you for your encouragement about the blog and helping people. I “know” that I do (or at least try to) but sometimes I can have a tough time keeping that in mind at all times. Your words help me keep that in mind!

Good to know I’m not alone. I’m embarking on some new health and wellness goals today. I’m also at the crossroads of deciding what to do with my career too.

  3. I’m definitely feeling like my business is going through a fresh start. New opportunities and possibilities are opening up. And I need to rise up to meet them.

I am starting a new chapter at the end of the month. I am a 35 year old law school graduate, as of last May, who sits for the bar exam at the end of the month. Due to the legal economy, I am working in retail management. I plan to spend the next year really focusing on deciding if starting a creative business is my true path, or getting a MA in Historic Preservation Planning, or freelance lawyering, or maybe a little bit of everything. And, trying to not only make peace with my current job, but also be open to what I can learn from it from a business perspective, as it is with an extremely successful cosmetic company.

It’s time I start doing what I love to do rather than what I think other’s want me to do or expect me to do, as following expectations has lead me to a very unhappy place. It’s time to take risks 🙂

BTW I am a new reader, and really enjoy the blog 🙂 Thanks for this quote, its going in my planning notebook!

    1. This is great news, Sue! I’m so excited for you and your journey. Though it sounds like you have a good head start, if you are looking for any guidance, I could not suggest the first three habits of The Seven Habits more highly. Habit 2 in particular might really help you to make your next move(s). : )

  6. Aw, I’m sorry to hear that you’re feeling like a fraud, Georgie. I hope that things are going well and that overall, it is a good fit, even if there is a learning curve to start. : ) I’m thinking of you!

So great to read this today! I’m in a fresh new chapter with an online store. Trying to stay intentional in deciding the direction this all will take.

  8. So needed this today, I’m moving to Washington, D.C. in 9 days and am so ready for a fresh start.

    1. Awesome! Have a great move! I just wrote about wardrobe transitions today, it might come in handy for your move. : )
